Police investigates liquor store theft, man arrested and charged

Police in Stephenville arrested 31-year-old Jordan Young on Monday morning in relation to theft, breach of his court order conditions and weapons related offences.

On August 17 at 11:30 a.m., Bay St. George RCMP officers responded to a report of a theft from a liquor store on Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. The suspect was identified, located by police and arrested without incident. He was transported to the RCMP detachment in Stephenville.

During a search following his arrest, officers discovered the man was in possession of a knife. Jordan Young, 31, of Kippens was charged with theft under $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order, possessing of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.

Young is well known to police and faces a little over 40 additional outstanding Criminal Code offences.
