RCMP investigating single vehicle crash, driver ticketed for operating an unregistered, uninsured vehicle
Burin Peninsula RCMP ticketed a 29-year-old man Wednesday under the province’s Highway Traffic Act for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, after officers responded to a single-vehicle collision near Salmonier Pond.
Just after 10:00 p.m. on August 5, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 220 between the communities of Salmonier and Little St. Lawrence. When officers arrived, they found the vehicle off the road with significant damages. Police conducted checks of the vehicle involved and determined it was not currently registered and was being operated on the roadway without a valid insurance policy.
The driver, a 29-year-old St. Lawrence man, sustained non-life threatening injuries during the crash. He was issued a pair of Summary Offence Tickets (SOT) for driving with an unregistered vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
