53-year-old woman dead after moose-vehicle collision near Chapel Arm
A 53-year-old woman is dead after a moose-vehicle collision near Chapel Arm.
Just before 2:45 a.m. on July 27, Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP responded to a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway involving a passenger vehicle and a moose. Members of the local fire department and Emergency Medical Services personnel also attended the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services is helping with the investigation, and the highway was closed for several hours west of the Chapel Arm exit. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has also been engaged.
The investigation is continuing.
