Nurse suspended for professional misconduct involving patient photo
A Newfoundland and Labrador licensed practical nurse has been found guilty of professional misconduct after taking a photo of a vulnerable patient and sending it to a colleague along with inappropriate text messages.
The complaint against Trina Noble stemmed from an incident at the Baie Verte Peninsula Health Care Centre in October 2021 while she was employed by Central Health. The complaint was filed with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses in September 2022.
In a decision dated June 10th, 2026, an adjudication tribunal accepted an agreed statement of facts and found Noble guilty of professional misconduct and conduct deserving of sanction.
Her nursing licence has been suspended for six months, she must pay $4,000 toward the College’s investigation costs, complete ethics and professionalism training before returning to practice, and will be monitored by the College for six months if she resumes working as a licensed practical nurse.
