St. Anthony RCMP seizes vehicle from unlicenced, uninsured and impaired driver
A 49-year-old man had his vehicle seized by St. Anthony RCMP Monday evening after a traffic stop revealed he was unlicenced, uninsured and over the provincial limit for impaired operation.
Shortly after 6:00 p.m. on July 20, RCMP officers conducting proactive patrols in the East Street area of St. Anthony stopped a vehicle with an expired registration. During the stop, police learned that the driver did not have a licence, and he was unable to provide proof of valid insurance.
Officers also administered a roadside breath test, confirming that the driver was over the provincial limit, but under the criminal threshold for impaired driving.
The driver was issued three tickets under the Highway Traffic Act, and the vehicle he was driving was seized and impounded by police.
