Mary’s Harbour RCMP tickets driver for excessive speed on Trans-Labrador Highway

Justice, News

Mary’s Harbour RCMP suspended the licence of a driver caught travelling 55 km/hr over the posted speed limit along Route 510 in Labrador on Wednesday.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m., on July 8, an officer – on patrol in the community of Lodge Bay – stopped a vehicle observed travelling at 105 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.

The driver – a 24-year-old man – was ticketed under the Newfoundland and Labrador Highway Traffic Act for excessive speeding. His licence was suspended.

RCMP Newfoundland and Labrador urges motorists to slow down and drive with added caution as conditions can change quickly, and moose and other wildlife are on the move.
