St. John’s Pride Festival begins today with nearly 50 events across the city
The 2026 St. John’s Pride Festival begins today, launching 12 days of community events, performances, workshops, celebrations, and advocacy under this year’s theme, This Party is a Protest.
The festival features nearly 50 events organized by community groups, volunteers, businesses, and local partners. The program includes returning favourites such as Pride After Dark and Pride in the Park, alongside new events and dedicated spaces designed to foster connection and celebrate the diversity of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
The festival concludes on Sunday, July 19, with the annual St. John’s Pride Parade through downtown St. John’s.
“This year’s theme reminds us that gathering together has always been about more than celebration,” said Eddy St. Coeur, Co-Chair, External for St. John’s Pride. “For queer people, taking up space through protest, parties, mourning, performing, dancing, or learning is a radical act in a world that too often tells us we shouldn’t exist.”
“Every event in this festival is an opportunity to show up for one another, build community, and affirm that we are here.”
Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore the full festival lineup and plan their Pride experience by visiting the Pride Guide at stjpride.ca.
The St. John’s Pride Festival is made possible through the support of volunteers, community partners, sponsors, and the many organizations that help bring the festival to life each year.
