Steven Page, Shaun Majumder, Chef Roger Andrews and St. John’s chefs to ignite Great Kitchen Party
Canada’s Great Kitchen Party has announced that acclaimed Canadian musician Steven Page, joined by Kevin Fox, celebrated actor and comedian Shaun Majumder as Master of Ceremonies, and the chefs selected to compete in the St. John’s regional qualifier of the 2027 Canadian Culinary Championship All-Star Invitational.
This prestigious event will bring together some of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most celebrated culinary talent for an unforgettable evening celebrating Canadian food, music, entertainment, and community.
For twenty years, Canada’s Great Kitchen Party, which began as Gold Medal Plates, has celebrated the very best of Canadian culture through food, music, and community impact. Now, in its landmark anniversary season, the organization is introducing its most ambitious culinary competition ever. 10 Cities • 20 All-Star Chefs • East vs. West • One City to be Crowned the Canadian Culinary Champions.
From St. John’s to Victoria, Canada’s most accomplished chefs will gather in ten cities across the country before advancing to the Canadian Culinary Championship in Ottawa in January 2027. For the first time in championship history, two executive chefs will represent each city, and each city team will compete as members of Team East or Team West in a coast-to-coast battle for culinary supremacy.
Roger Andrews, one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most respected culinary leaders, has been selected as the city’s 2026 Chef of Distinction. Chef Andrews will be one of the two chefs representing St. John’s at the national finale. Six outstanding chefs, all previous podium finishers, whose creativity and passion continue to define the province’s thriving culinary scene, will compete for the coveted second position on Team St. John’s.
