Rescue NL warns pet owners of possible Parvovirus
Rescue NL is warning pet owners about reports of Parvovirus in metro area. The animal rescue organization says it believes the reports involve another animal organization in the community. Parvovirus is highly contagious and can be spread not only through direct contact with infected dogs but also indirectly – on shoes, clothing, hands, leashes, food bowls, and other objects.
it can survive in the environment for several months.
Anyone with young and senior pets that are immuno-compromised, or not fully vaccinated, should consider limiting unnecessary outings or contact with other animals.
