Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP advise of increased police presence due to possible munition
Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP is advising that residents will see an increased and ongoing police presence near the water in the Hamilton River Road and Markland Road area.
This increased presence is in response to the discovery of a possible military munition in the water. The scene has been secured and it will be continuously monitored until experts with the Canadian Armed Forces arrive to assess and dispose of the item.
There is no risk to public safety at this time. However, members of the public are asked to stay away from the area and cooperate will all directions from police and other authorities.
