Quidi Vidi Slipway officially reopens for public use
An historic focal point in the city of St. John’s and the heart of Quidi Vidi village has officially reopened after undergoing roughly $750,000 in repairs.
The Quidi Vidi slipway was closed in January of this year to be replaced as city engineers deemed it unsafe in 2023. Residents had rallied to save the site, holding multiple demonstrations over the last couple of years. Now, according to a post on the City of St. John’s Facebook page, the slipway has reopened for public use.
