Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP arrests three in relation to break and enter
Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP arrested three men on Friday in relation to a break, enter and theft at a local business Friday morning.
On June 26, around 1:45 a.m., officers responded to a commercial alarm on Aspen Road in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Police met the business owners at the scene, and were advised that several items had been stolen. RCMP Police Dog Services was engaged to assist with the investigation.
During patrols related to the investigation, witnesses reported seeing an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) being operated in a dangerous manner in the area before police arrived.
A short time later, officers received a report of an ATV on fire nearby. The Happy Valley-Goose Bay Fire Department also responded and quickly extinguished the fire. While police were on scene, two men were taken into custody and, as a result of their ongoing investigation, officers charged them in relation to the break and enter.
The investigation continued, and around 11:00 a.m., a third suspect was identified with available surveillance footage and arrested for his participation in the break and enter.
Ethan Pijogge, 25, and Joel Rich, 31, were each charged with one count of breaking and entering with intent, and appeared in Happy Valley-Goose Bay Provincial Court on Friday afternoon. Joel Rich was also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
A 19-year-old male was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date in relation to a charge of breaking and entering.
