Police operation safely concluded in Ferndale
Placentia RCMP is advising the public that the police operation that was being conducted in the community of Ferndale earlier this afternoon has safely concluded.
RCMP alerted the public around 1:00 p.m. of an increased police presence in the community, and residents were asked to avoid the area. In the interest of police safety, RCMP asked the public to refrain from posting images, videos and information about the officers activities. A portion of Ferndale Road was closed as well due to the police operation.
At 1:45 p.m., residents were told that they can once again return to normal activities in the area, however, there may be an ongoing police presence in the community as the investigation continues.
It is unknown at this time if anybody was placed under arrest in relation to the police operation. NTV News will have updates as they become available.
