Wanted man arrested after traffic complaint in Conception Bay South
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a wanted man has been arrested after a traffic complaint in Conception Bay South.
Police say they received a report at about 10:15 a.m. on June 18 about a speeding vehicle on Legion Road.
Officers located the vehicle and identified the driver as 39-year-old Matthew Scott.
Police say Scott attempted to evade officers, driving into a field before leaving the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
A drone was used to track his movements, and Police Dog Services were brought in to assist. Scott was later arrested at a home without incident.
He is facing three counts of driving while prohibited related to the latest incident, along with outstanding warrants for failing to appear and driving while prohibited.
Police say Scott is also wanted on an RCMP warrant for charges including dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, and failing to comply with release conditions.
