Clarenville RCMP investigating thefts at local business, requesting public’s assistance

Justice, News

Police in Clarenville are investigating three separate incidents of theft from a local retail store, and sharing photos in hopes of identifying three individuals believed to be involved.

On Thursday, Clarenville RCMP were called to the Walmart on Shoal Harbour Road, after staff at the store reported a series of thefts over the past two weeks.

The first incident occurred on Friday, June 5. A woman was captured on surveillance footage with an area rug in her cart, and employees reported that she exited the store with the item, but did not pay for it. She was wearing an olive green-coloured hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans with holes in both knees.

The following day, June 6, two men and one woman entered the store together and left with items valued at more than $1,700. One of the men and the woman were identified by store staff, however, the identity of the second man is still unknown. He is a white male with a goatee, and was wearing a blue t-shirt under a plaid long-sleeve shirt, dark coloured pants and a dark baseball cap.

On Wednesday, June 10, a man wearing a black CAT-branded baseball hat and white sunglasses entered the store and left with almost $500.00 of unpaid merchandise.

If you know the identity of any of the people in these photos, please contact Clarenville RCMP at 709-466-3211.
