Gander RCMP investigating fatal moose vehicle collision on TCH
Gander RCMP is investigating a moose-vehicle collision that occurred overnight and resulted in the death of a 34-year-old driver. Just before 10 p.m. on June 2, police responded to a collision on the Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) involving a passenger vehicle and a moose. Members of Gander Fire Rescue and Emergency Medical Services personnel also responded to the crash.
The driver of the vehicle, a 34-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A Collision Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services attended the scene to assist with the investigation, and the highway was closed overnight while officers examined the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) has also been engaged.
The investigation is continuing.
