Gas Drops by 11.5 Cents After Federal Tax Relief

Today, the temporary removal of the federal excise tax on gas and diesel went into effect, and drivers will notice a significant change in the price of gas. Gasoline is down by 11.5 cents a litre, while diesel decreases by 4.6 cents. Furnace and stove oils as well as propane are exempt from the excise tax, and have not changed in price. The next adjustment from the Public Utilities Board is expected tomorrow.
