One person taken to hospital following apparent hit-and-run collision
A two-vehicle collision in the Town of Torbay on Saturday sent one person to hospital.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of the Kevin Parsons Highway and Bauline Line at about noon on Saturday. A two-vehicle collision had caused significant damage to both vehicles, with one of them coming to rest in a ditch. When firefighters arrived on scene one of the vehicles was empty, with no occupants around. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to hospital with injuries described at the time to be non life-threatening.
Traffic was slowed in the area as crews worked. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating.
