Blues bounce back in Herder Memorial series
After losing two games at home last weekend, the Baker Flooring Blues picked up a 5-3 win over the Red Wings in Deer Lake on Friday night.
Deer Lake now leads the best-of-seven provincial senior hockey final 2-1, with Game 5 set for Sunday.
The Red Wings opened the series with a 5-1 win, followed by a 2-1 overtime victory in Game 2.
For Deer Lake, it is their ninth appearance in the Herder final in the past 15 years. The Blues are making their first appearance in the senior hockey final.
The Herder has a long history, dating back to 1935, when Corner Brook won the first title.
