RNC arrest 13-year-old for assault

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has made an arrest following an assault in Mount Pearl.

On Monday, around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a disturbance at a home in Mount Pearl. Officers located a male with non-life-threatening stab wounds, and he was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The suspect, a 13-year-old male, had fled the residence prior to police arrival. Police Dog Services were engaged and the youth was located and arrested on a nearby walking trail at 3 a.m.

As a result of the investigation, the youth has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was held to appear in court.
