Trinity-Conception and Glovertown RCMP seize vehicles from suspended drivers
Two suspended drivers had their vehicles seized by police during traffic stops in Victoria and Dover over the weekend.
Shortly after 9:30 pm on March 27, a Trinty-Conception RCMP officer on patrol in Victoria initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle with no valid registration. The driver of the vehicle, a 38-year-old man, was operating with a suspended driver’s licence, and was unable to provide proof of valid insurance. The vehicle he was driving was seized by police and impounded, and the operator was issued tickets under the Highway Traffic Act for driving while disqualified, operating a vehicle without an insurance policy and operating a vehicle without valid registration.
On Sunday, March 29, shortly after 11:40 a.m., a Glovertown RCMP officer stopped a vehicle in Dover, as the driver was known to have a suspended licence. During the stop, police confirmed that the 42-year-old man’s licence was suspended, and charged the driver with driving while disqualified. The vehicle was seized by police, and the driver was issued a notice to appear in Provincial Court at a future date.
