Rogues topple Hoopers in back-to-back nights
The Newfoundland Rogues completed their home-series sweep against the Halifax Hoopers 113-108 on Sunday evening. The win sees the Rogues improve their TBL record to 7-5; good for second in the Atlantic Canadian division.
After a 7-0 run for the home side to start things, the Hoopers quickly established dominance over the Rogues for the majority of the first half. The Rogues came back swinging in the third quarter chopping away at the Halifax lead before eventually securing the win after a close call down the stretch. The Hoopers were once again led by former Rogue Antonio Davis’ 30 points while the Rogues were led by former Hooper Shakwon Barrett’s 31 points and the province’s own Steven Earles season-high 15 point performance.
The Rogues will have a couple days rest before their next series against the ADS Sentinels tips off on Wednesday, April 1st at the Mary Brown’s Centre.
