First Light to release report on Indigenous incarceration on Monday
First Light is preparing to release a new report detailing the findings of its recent province-wide demographic snapshot conducted at all five adult correctional facilities in Newfoundland and Labrador – the first comprehensive study of Indigenous incarceration in more than a generation.
The new study found significant overrepresentation and gaps in access to culturally appropriate services. Members of the media are invited to attend a technical briefing ahead of the report’s public release on Monday, March 30.
