Disturbance at Arnold’s Cove home results in criminal charges

Justice, News

A 37-year-old wanted man was taken into custody Thursday as a result of a disturbance at an Arnold’s Cove home.

At about 7:15 p.m., Clarenville RCMP responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance on Kingwell Crescent in the town, located on the isthmus of the Avalon Peninsula. When officers arrived, they identified Joshua Harvey Williams, who was already the subject of an arrest warrant in connection to a prior incident.

Williams reportedly refused to co-operate. After officers arrested him, they located and seized a concealed knife, which was a violation of his court-ordered release conditions.

Williams has been charged with resisting or obstructing a police officer, failing to comply with a condition of a release order and failing to attend court in accordance with a release order.

He was expected to make his first appearance in Clarenville provincial court today.

The investigation is continuing.
