Growlers win U-18 AAA hockey championship; travelling to N.B. for Atlantics next month
This past weekend, the O’Neill Nissan U18 AAA Growlers captured the Kubota Cup by winning the NLU18AAA League Championship over the East Coast Blizzard in a 4–0 series sweep in the best-of-seven final.
Goaltender Dace Gruchy was awarded the Presidents Cup as Playoff MVP after posting an impressive 8–1 playoff record, along with a 2.54 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage.
The team will now move on to represent the province at the U18 AAA Atlantic Championships in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, from April 1st–5th.
