‘Battle of the Brads’ set for this afternoon at Brier, NL’s Young rink finishes 3-5
Undefeated teams skipped by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue and defending champion Brad Jacobs will clash this afternoon with top seed in Pool A on the line.
Both teams are already playoff bound with records of 7-0, but today’s matchup is set to be a pivotal one – with the hammer on the line for the playoff game.
The Jacobs foursome is the reigning Olympic champion having won gold in Cortina, Italy, less than week before its first game of the Brier in St. John’s.
Meanwhile, Nathan Young’s Newfoundland and Labrador rink ended their Brier journey on Wednesday, finishing out of the playoffs with a 3-5 record.
