Brother of Tumbler Ridge shooter arrested on Canada-wide warrant
The older brother of the Tumbler Ridge shooter has been arrested.
According to Alberta RCMP, Jacob van Rootselaar was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for attempted murder. The 22-year-old was wanted in connection with an incident in Alberta in 2024. He was taken into custody late Friday.
According to CTV News, Jacob is the older brother of Jesse van Roostelaar, who killed eight people on Feb. 10, including her mother and 11-year-old sibling, in a mass shooting in Tumbler Ridge.
