Justice, News

Three drivers are without their vehicles after being stopped and ticketed by RCMP Traffic Services West in one day this week.

Just before noon on Feb. 17, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop in St. Fintan’s. The driver, a 48-year-old Robinsons man, was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended license. He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) for the offence, and his vehicle was seized and impounded.

Approximately an hour later, the same officer observed a vehicle driving at excessive speeds on Main Road in McKay’s and conducted a traffic stop. The 30-year-old male driver was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was ticketed under the HTA. His vehicle was seized and impounded.

Just after 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, police stopped a vehicle with expired registration in Stephenville Crossing and the driver, a 33-year-old Kippens man, could not provide proof of a valid insurance policy. He ticketed under the HTA and his vehicle was seized by police.
