More damage in Trepassey
The broken breakwater in Trepassey, combined with yesterday’s winter storm, has caused more damage to the road leading to the lower coast. Battery Road was closed to all traffic for a period of time Wednesday. It was earlier this month when the town declared a state of emergency after a winter storm tore down more of the breakwater and caused severe damage to the road. Battery Road re-opened to one lane for lower coast residents late last evening, but the town of is asking all residents to avoid using the road, if possible.
If you do have to drive on Battery Road, it’s advised to use caution at all times.
