Broken breakwater mixed with adverse weather causes more damage in Trepassey
The road leading to the Lowercoast in Trepassey was blocked with debris today, forcing the closure of Battery Road once again.
The town declared a state of emergency earlier this month as a winter storm knocked down what was remaining of the breakwater, and caused severe damage to the roadway.

Battery road is now open to residential traffic for Lowercoast residents. Trepassey town council is advising that only one lane of the road is open. They’re asking all residents of Trepassey to avoid using the road at this time. The road is also open for snow clearing and those working at Powells Head.
Residents are advised to use caution at all times, and only travel on Battery Road if necessary.
