St. John’s woman charged after allegedly assaulting elderly mother
A 40-year-old St. John’s woman has been charged with assault after allegedly attacking her elderly mother during a family disturbance overnight.
Police were called to a home in the city’s centre around midnight. Officers found an elderly woman who had been assaulted by her daughter, who police say was extremely intoxicated and causing problems for other family members at the residence.
The daughter was arrested at the scene and charged with common assault. She was being held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court this morning.
