Woman arrested for assaulting a police officer following altercation
RNC officers were called to the west end of St. John’s late Friday evening to a report of assistance to the public.
Responding officers spoke to the complainant who said the situation had escalated. As a result of their investigation, a 27-year-old female was arrested for assault. During the arrest, the woman became uncooperative with police and was additionally charged with assaulting a peace officer.
She was held to appear in court this morning.
