News

A 36-year-old man was ticketed by Clarenville RCMP on Jan. 23, after reports of a single-vehicle collision revealed he was driving with an expired driver’s licence.

Just before 5:00 p.m. on Friday, police received a report of an overturned vehicle off the side of the Trans-Canada Highway, outside of Clarenville near the White Hills Resource Road turnoff.

Police, fire crews and NL Health Services emergency medical personnel responded to the scene. RCMP were told that the driver lost control of the vehicle, when he veered to prevent a head-on collision with a snowplow in operation and overturned. No injuries were reported to police.

The driver was found to be operating the vehicle with an expired driver’s licence and was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act.
