Canadian Blood Services looking for new donors in the new year

News

Canadian Blood Services is urging Canadians to help meet patients’ needs in the new year, hoping to get more than 23,000 people rolling up their sleeves.

Canadian Blood Services say that the summer is one of the most challenging times for the country’s blood system, and more than 23,000 donors are urgently needed by July 2 to ensure patients continue to have access to the blood, and blood products, that they need.

Currently, the national blood inventory continues to meet demand, but a boost in donors by Canada Day will ensure that demand is met throughout the summer months.
