Motorist owing thousands in fines pulled over by police
Early this morning a female driver owing over $16,000 in fines was pulled over by RNC.
Around 12:14 a.m. RNC officers observed a car that didn’t appear road worthy travelling on Topsail Road. A traffic stop was initiated and it was determined the 45-year-old female driver had a suspended license and owed $16,950.83 in outstanding fines.
The accused was charged with driving while suspended, as well as two summary offence tickets under the Highway Traffic Driver regulations. Police seized and impounded her vehicle.
