Two people arrested for possession of illicit drugs
Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP arrested two individuals, a 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, early Saturday morning after a traffic stop revealed that the pair were in possession of cocaine and open cannabis.
Around 1:30 a.m. on December 27, 2025, officers were on patrol looking for impaired drivers when they spotted and stopped a vehicle on Main Road in Isle aux Morts.
During the traffic stop, the officers observed suspected cocaine and open cannabis in the car. The driver, a 22-year-old woman, and her passenger, a 30-year-old man, were arrested. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a substance believed to be cocaine. The pair, who are both of St. David’s, are expected to make their first appearance in court in April to answer to a charge of a controlled substance.
The investigation is ongoing.
