Some Schools Closed for the Second Time This Week
A challenging weather week across the island has resulted in some schools closing their doors for the second time in just a few days. Wednesday was a widespread snow day, and today wind warnings are in effect for much of the island, with a snow squall watch on the west coast.
Schools in Grand Falls-Windsor, Bishop’s Falls, and Badger have a delayed opening this morning.
Schools in Corner Brook, Deer Lake, Springdale, Pasadena, Stephenville, Bonavista, Clarenville, and on the Burin Peninsula are closed for the morning, with an update coming between 10:30 and 11:00.
Schools in Twillingate, Lewisporte, and Musgrave Harbour are closed all day. Some schools are closed for a PD Day. St. Mary’s, St. Andrews, Holy Family, East Point Elementary, MacDonald Drive and Amalgamated Academy in Bay Roberts.
