Update: Man charged with armed robbery in court

Justice, News

A 24-year-old man who reportedly used a weapon to hold up a business in St. John’s was back before a judge in provincial court today.

Ajmain Inqiyad Islam Radin was taken into custody Friday following an armed robbery at the business, located on Queen’s Road. He was said to have wielded the weapon, demanded cash from an employee and left the area. Police haven’t said what the weapon was, but said there were no injuries.

Radin made his first appearance in provincial court Saturday and was back this afternoon for what was supposed to be a bail hearing. However, when time didn’t allow the case to be heard, it was postponed to later this week.

Radin is charged with armed robbery, along with five other weapons-related offences.
