Ottawa announces $8 million for new breakwater in Petty Harbour
The federal government is highlighting funding set aside in this year’s budget for a new breakwater in Petty Harbour.
Cape Spear MP Tom Osborne met with the Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove Harbour Authority over the weekend to announce $8 million in federal funding for the project.
The investment will replace aging infrastructure that’s long overdue for renewal.
Osborne says the new breakwater will help protect the harbour and nearby communities from harsh weather, while also supporting local businesses that depend on the marine economy.
