Inflation increases in September
Inflation increased by 2.4 percent in September, up from a 1.9 percent increase in August.
On a year-over-year basis, gasoline prices fell less in September compared with August due to a base-year effect, leading to an acceleration in headline inflation.
Excluding gasoline, inflation increased 2.6 percent in September, after increasing 2.4 percent in August.
At the same time, grocery prices went up in September.
