Man with weapon in vehicle arrested and charged

A man will appear in court this morning after fleeing a traffic stop in St. John’s on Sunday morning.

When officers in the centre city area of St. John’s attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled. Officers in CBS located the vehicle a short time later.

Upon searching the vehicle,  a weapon was located.

The driver was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, dangerous operation of a conveyance and flight from police.
