Costs more than doubles as new contract awarded to complete tomb of unknown solider

A new contract has been awarded to build the tomb of the unknown soldier at the National War Memorial, and the cost has gone up.

The Department of Transportation terminated the contract with central Newfoundland company, Ocean Floor Granite, late last year and has announced it will now be contracting Nova Scotia company ‘Heritage Memorials’, but at a much higher cost.
