
Please be advised of the following winter parking bans and applicable dates.
Snow Routes
From December 1 to March 31, parking is prohibited 24-hours a day on streets designated as ‘No Parking Snow Route.’ These streets are marked with signs. These bans are in place so ice control and snow clearing equipment can safely service the streets.
Overnight Winter Parking Ban (Outside the Downtown)
The Overnight Winter Parking Ban for streets outside the designated downtown area will begin on Wed., Jan. 3, 2024, and will end on Fri., Apr. 5, 2024.
The ban is in effect daily and tickets can be issued to vehicles parked on the street between 12:30 and 7:30 a.m., regardless of weather and street conditions. The Deputy City Manager of Public Works has the authority to modify the parking ban dates if deemed necessary.
Downtown Business District Winter Parking Ban
The Downtown Business District Parking Ban will begin on Wed., Jan. 3, 2024, and will end on Fri., Apr. 5, 2024. The Deputy City Manager of Public Works has the authority to modify the parking ban dates if deemed necessary.
While the ban is in place, vehicles are not allowed to park between 4 and 6 a.m., regardless of street or snow conditions, on:
- Water Street, from Waldegrave Street to Prescott Street
- Duckworth Street, from New Gower Street to Cochrane Street
A ticket may be issued to any vehicle in violation of the parking ban.
24-Hour Parking Ban
This parking ban is applicable to streets outside the designated downtown area. The 24-Hour Parking Ban will be declared when required. The purpose of the ban is to keep roads free of parked vehicles so that crews can quickly and safely clear snow. Once declared, the ban will be in place for 24-hours a day until it is lifted.

Downtown Snow Removal
On street parking is permitted on streets in the designated downtown area unless scheduled for snow removal. Signs will be placed in snowbanks on the day of removal to indicate that overnight parking is prohibited.
Downtown snow removal takes place from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Vehicles must be removed from streets that are scheduled for removal during this time. To find out if your street is scheduled for overnight removal, you can:
