One of the five teenagers suspected of brutally attacking a St. John’s high school student on school grounds earlier this year is back behind bars.

The 16-year-old had been arrested and released in March, but was taken into custody again late last week for reportedly breaching his release conditions.

He’s scheduled to have a bail hearing tomorrow.

He’s one of five male teenagers who were arrested following a disturbing incident that happened on March 9 in front of Prince of Wales Collegiate on Paton Street.

The teens were seen getting out of a vehicle on the PWC parking lot, approaching a 16-year-old boy in front of the school and attacking him. Some of the attackers were said to have weapons. The victim was taken to the Janeway Children’s Hospital by ambulance in serious conditions. He was released from hospital and spent many months home recovering.

The youth suspects from St. John’s — ages 14, 15, 16 and 17 at the time — along with 18-year-old Tyler Greening of Paradise, face serious charges as a result of the brutal beating.

Three of the youth have been charged with attempted murder and have a trial set for Nov. 27.

The teen recently charged with the court breaches, along with Greening, face counts of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Greening, the only one of the five currently not in custody, is due back in court tomorrow for an election and plea.
