Formal hearings in the Inquiry Respecting the Treatment, Experiences and Outcomes of Innu in the Child Protection System have been postponed because of recent tragedies in the community.
The formal hearings were scheduled for April 15-19, in Sheshatshiu. The commissioners said in a news release on Saturday that they are committed to the principle that the work of the Inquiry strive to do no further harm.
The formal hearings will be rescheduled at a future date.
