A two-vehicle collision at a busy St. John’s intersection on Saturday evening sent at least two people to hospital.

Shortly before 8:00 p.m. emergency crews responded to the intersection of Prince Philip Drive and Portugal Cove Road. A sedan and a minivan had collided, causing significant damage to both vehicles. Paramedics assessed two young children, who were passengers of the minivan, taking both to hospital for what was reported as precautionary reasons. The driver of the sedan was also assessed by paramedics, however it was unknown at the time if they were transported to hospital.

Traffic at the intersection was slowed in all directions while crews worked, and as the scene was cleared.
