
There were no serious injuries to report following two separate collisions within a short distance from one another on Sunday afternoon.
At about 1:30 p.m. emergency crews were called to the intersection of Thorburn Road and Goldstone Street after two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision in the intersection. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage. The crash slowed traffic in all directions for close to an hour, until the scene could be cleared.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m. crews responded to a second collision, at the intersection of Thorburn Road and Prince Philip Drive. Both vehicles involved in that collision sustained moderate damage. Again, traffic was slowed for a while until the scene could be cleared.
In each incident, one person was assessed by paramedics at the scene, reportedly suffering minor injuries. It was not immediately known if anyone was taken to hospital.
