Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in Florida have been making their mark in helping deal with the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.

Utility workers have been hard at work over the last number of days, restoring power for the more than three million Florida residents who were left in the dark after Hurricane Milton.

Jason Stuckless is one of 16 powerline technicians from Newfoundland and Labrador, who is helping with power restoration in Florida. Even as his daughter Avery celebrates her 9th birthday, he says his crew has been working 16 hour days.

As of Sunday morning more than 900,000 homes were still without power, and 17 people have been confirmed dead as a result of Hurricane Milton.
