RNC officers were called to a business in the west end of St. John’s early Friday evening. A man had been seen leaving the business with unpaid merchandise and holding a weapon.

Following a brief struggle, the suspect was detained by security. On arrival, police arrested a 43-year-old man for armed robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, and more.

The male was held to appear before a judge.
