Innu Nation is welcoming the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision to uphold a federal bill on Indigenous jurisdiction in child and family services
It was a unanimous ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada to uphold Bill C-92: an act respecting first nations, Inuit and Metis children, youth and families. The Innu nation says the decision clears the path to take control back, so decisions about Innu children and families are made by Innu, for Innu, in a way that both honours Innu culture and is rooted in their connection to their land.
